Céline Marie Vidal

Céline Marie is a volcanologist, yoga teacher, artist and menstruality mentor at RedSchool UK. Her research uses a forensic approach to reconstruct large eruptions of the past that impacted climate and civilisations. She combines physical volcanology, magma and tephra geochemistry with climate and archaeological archives to identify volcanoes that produced explosive eruptions only known from distal records. Her current research focuses on building a tephrostratigraphy lattice of the Ethiopian and Turkana Rift, using tephra to link paleoanthropological and archaeological sites with the volcanological record. Céline Marie’s current project, Voice of Earth, combines scientific measurements, art, indigenous knowledge and shamanism to record, translate and share the voice of the Earth.
