PhD title: The Deadly 1868 eruption of Mauna Loa, Hawai’i: Lessons from a crystal cargo’

The main objective of my PhD is the petrological and geochemical characterisation of the 1868 and Southwest Rift Zone eruptions of Mauna Loa to construct a framework of understanding to explain the magma’s origin and what the crystals may tell us about the structure of magma storage regions in Mauna Loa.
