Alana Weir

Alana is a Teaching Associate at the Centre for the Study of Existential Risk (CSER). Her research seeks to understand how we can better identify, assess, manage and mitigate volcanic risk at varying spatio-temporal scales. Alana has expertise in co-production of disaster risk knowledge with stakeholders, scenario development, pre- and post-event impact assessment, and systemic vulnerability and risk analysis. Alana’s most recent research surrounds the development of methods to quantifying the efficacy of volcanic risk management strategies.
